looking for a calendar that shows the hole month on the desktop and highlights special days. (ex. birthdays, planned tasks)

anybody using a fancy looking, good working one?

I use Active Desktop Calendar. It's user friendly and let's you set it up to suit your taste. And it does pretty much everything you ask for.
