Can't say for certain, but it almost sounds like John De Lancie is thouroughly confused by the popularity he's gained by playing Discord. Also, he's performing a role (inferred to be Discord again) for Season 3, which is annoying to find out now since Season 2 only ended yesterday. He promises to watch a few episodes to figure out why he's become a popular subject among a children's show at an upcoming convention.

Anyway, here he is answering some questions concerning his upcoming MLP role at the Vancouver Fan Expo. Love or hate the series, you can't not like him regardless.
