Let's see... big list in no particular order.
David Bowie
Dresden Dolls
Monster Magnet
Bauhaus
LUXT (defunct Sacramento Industrial Metal)
The Crüxshadows
Clan of Xymox
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Dead Can Dance
Faith and the Muse
Gorillaz
Groovie Ghoulies
Jack Johnson
Laibach
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult
Rammstein
Rilo Kiley
System of a Down
Type O Negative
Einsturzende Neubauten
I'm not really sure what these have in common to make me like them. Simple rhythms, inspired vocals, or narrative lyrics all seem to draw me in.

I had expected at least DOW to make a comment about the bands I put but I guess not.
So for real this time, just about anything except the bands I have listed in previous posts.

1. you hadn't gone through puberty yet
or

This shows my mid 30's age.
THE METAL
Metallica (80's)
Megadeth
Anthrax
Slayer
Kreator
Exodus
Dragonforce
The rules of Metal
1. Name should be a verb, especially if it's one name.
2. One song MUST start out with the sweet guitar sound and then pound the piss out of you.
3. Logo must be cool
4. No selling out
Most of you know the collection of stuff I got. Any Metal name that has a verb is cool to me. The only prob is the growling is a bit overdone today. Sometimes it sounds like some dude throwing up after too many drinks.

Yes, Jack Johnson is the king of goth.
And for the record, nearly all of my clothes are black.
Laundry days are easy.

Re: MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC
I am frankly a little disturbed here. Everyone's mentioning metal bands left right and center, and NO ONE HAS MENTIONED IRON MAIDEN. These guys invented metal, and are still making it awesome, even if Bruce Dickinson's voice is kinda....dead.
My favorites would have to be:
A Perfect Circle
Apocalyptica
The Beatles
Disturbed
Dredg
Guns 'N Roses
Iron Maiden (of course)
....Journey....
Led Zep
Old School Metallica
Modest Mouse
The Moody Blues
Opeth
Pink Floyd
Porcupine Tree
Queen
Rage Against the Machine
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Tool
The Who
Wintersleep
And yeah, i know, my tastes jump all over the place.

Glad to see there are some fellow metal fans out there.
In no particular order:
AC/DC (because you have to)
Flogging Molly
Van Halen
Meatloaf
Dragonforce
Hammerfall
Blind Guardian (all time favourite)
Nightwish
Queen
Breaking Benjamin
Iced Earth
Iron Maiden
The Monks
The Clash
Plasticine
Supertramp
Zeppelin, of course...
Def Leppard... Of course.
My tastes tend to jump a bit too. From classic rock to metal to old English punk. New punk sucks. And I agree about the metal grunt, way too overdone. I like it when my metal singers SING.
