Map Rar Files???

OK I have looked at the FS banana can not find how to use a map file that is a Rar

Like IS: rare_room_32.rar

How do you use them Down load them or Up load them so you can play the map

with other maps they are in a Zip and I just move the stuff to there appropriate folders

With the Rar I am totally oblivious so can some one tell me what to do with the file once I have it down loaded?

I have all my Zip and Rar down loads saved to a folder inside the Maps folder this is were I down load all my maps till I move them.

Unzip or Unrar the file and place the decompressed file(s) in your maps folder.

Masakari's link works fine, and I also suggest using 7-Zip for decompression.

you have to extra the files from the zip or rar, I use winzip, but there are other options like what masa linked, just google that

7zip is this shizzle my nizzle. A .rar file is pretty much a .zip file. Except windows wont unzip it by default (like a .zip file). You can get a trial version of Winrar from rarlab.com. But, 7zip is free software to compress/decompress a range of different files, including .rar (and .zip). Also, 7zip is what I use to pack my tf2 maps into the required .bz2 file for fastDL servers. Usually after people install 7zip, they never use anything else.

Once you get something like 7zip or winrar installed, extract the file(s) to the appropriate folder. Usually there's a .bsp file that will need to go here:

c\programfiles\steam\steamapps\YOURACCOUNT\left4dead\maps

if you dont have the last two folders (like I don't), you will have to create them. After the folders are there place the bsp file from the rar into the maps folder.

O whats weird is when I Double clicked it it does nothing doesnt open like the Zips do when I double click them

I have 7 zip so when I right clicked it and say 7-zip to open it does it just fine.
