Just came back from a server which let you play as infected (thank you server browser). It was extremely glitchy but playable and I got to test the new infected.
All the new infected are fun to play as.
The charger by far was the coolest infected to play as. There's nothing more satisfying then plowing through the survivors and then pounding one into the ground. He's difficult to control and I slammed into walls quite a few times and failed but when you line up just right you can really dish out some damage. 600 HP and 10 claw damage also help. This guy will definitely help when trying to get some survivors out of a closet.
The Jockey was my second favorite. There's something about steering a survivor further and further away from his friends that made me laugh. Of course like the hunter and smoker most of the time I was knocked off before I could dish out a ton of damage but even then I could steer them into danger.
The Splitter was kind of cool but extremely situational. She could block off cramped passageways for survivors for a bit and mess up some survivors who are trying to pick up a teammate. But other then that often I didn't do much damage with her, if I aimed it right I could get 1 hit on the survivors but in an open area they easily got out . She'll be useful against closet campers though.

Currently the only server I know of which has it is currently glitched out (survivors got to the end and it won't go back to the first map).
I'll tell you tomorrow if the owner restarts it.
EDIT: The server owner managed to fix it.

I hadn't even thought of that. Picking a corner and not moving till the crescendo is over is no longer going be a fully viable strategy.
Interesting...
Yep, it actually happened in a vs session tonight.
We had all gathered around a corner due to a horde when all of a sudden splitter goo was at our feet and we had to move. Those "I win" spots are going to become a lot fewer now-a-days.

Re: L4D2 Demo thoughts
It's probably the very reason the Spitter was created in the first place.

About 90% of the suggestions for new SI on the steam forums were to destroy closet campers.
One of those ideas one eventually became the charger but I think valve figured out very quickly people didn't like campers and designed an infected that forces the survivors to move.
That server is Running a hack and the announcer may get angry.
Be fore warned you may get Slapped around and Could loose your Bills hat for playing there
I seriously doubt you could lose your hat for playing on a server which just so happened to have a vs mod. Running a third party application is one thing, just playing on a server with a mod is another.
