I will order this.

Source didn't take me away from original CS nor TF2 but we will see if GO does.

Are there going to be dedicated servers? The match making process works fine, but the game lacks some serious freedom. 5v5 is fun, but 15 vs 15 has its own appeal, as does DEATH MATCH.

I was thinking that as i posted but just assumed that there would be dedicated servers.

If there isn't then i likely won't buy it, i'm not a fan of match making as the only method.

Likewise, hence why I play on a specific organizations set of servers for tf2.

I was watching the ESL grand finals(follow Masakaris link above) - the game looks great, and the pros are ripping it up already.

I wonder if they have/are going to improve the accuracy any - when I played the beta a few months ago it was horrid enough to make me wary of picking it up. For $15 it will probably be hard to say no, though I've got other game purchases of interest to consider this month!

I'm not picking it up unless it takes the same ground that CS:S did.

It did seem kinda wonky to me too, even for counterstrike awhile ago when I was playing. But I'm sure I'll just pick it up because I'll have a ton of friends that do.

For $13.49 pre-order it is hard to pass up.

As far as dedicated servers:
The full version of CSGO will allow community run dedicated servers on both Windows and Linux.

My CS:GO experience has been much more fun than my CS:S experience, so I'll likely pick it up pretty quick. Arms Race and Demolition were great additions IMO - I've hardly found myself playing the classic modes. The ability to control bots also greatly helps the game - dying 20 seconds into a 5-minute round and just having to sit and watch for the rest of the match was never fun.

Quick question: pre-ordering doesn't remove the beta from your library, does it? I'd like to still be able to play the beta for the next couple weeks...

My opinion of the beta:

CS:GO is certainly better than CSS or the original, but I feel like there's not enough in it to hook me into playing it for extended periods of time.

I've been having a similar experience. A match or two and I am ready to move on. The part that always hooked me was playing with friends or being a part of a team.

Happy to hear that dedicated servers will be there.

Nope. Full details here:

At this price, I'm buying. CS:GO felt exactly the same as CS:S in almost every way - just slightly better graphics/sound, and a couple more weapon options. Given how much I played CS:S and enjoyed it, I imagine I'll get some good use out of this one - especially once we get a Ville server or two up and running.

I am buying it, I have had much history with CS and CSS so I am just a consumer tool (especially for fifteen bucks). I love Counter Strike.
