Hmm yes, but still looks like a good game for the ville. Can't wait for this as got in to CS:S really late and have not had the chance to play with many villuns. Will be fun.

It seems awfully difficult to improve on Counter Strike as it is, but keep in mind, CS:S is quite possibly the most played internet game of all time (not counting MMOs, I think WoW may have CS:S beat). Making it look and feel like a new thing is sure to be a good choice, as the francise hasn't seen any major action since they added achievements and killcams in 2009. I just hope they make aiming a bit easier for people who can't seem to hit where it's pointing.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see this game go for free or for less than $15.

And from my dumb downed comment, I take that back. The new tailor on steam seems to me much newer than the videos I linked and some of the dumbed down stuff I saw seems to have changed.

Wait a sec...The Steam trailer mentioned "cross platform play"?
Is it time to "pwn" some console gamers?

If that is actually true, I will buy this game just for that.

Cross Platform probably only means PS3, as PS3 supports Steamworks now. I doubt Xbox will carry it, but that's probably just wishful thinking on my part.

It may also be referring to Mac users, as Mac and Windows are technically different platforms.

So I saw that the beta was available in my steam games library. Has anyone else tried it?

Are you sure that's the GO beta and not just CS:S beta? While I don't think I deserve GO beta, I don't have it myself.

I've got the beta, and the graphics are nicer, the buy menu is easier to work with, and not all of the weapons are available yet, but with only one map currently available it's hard to judge if it will be a major difference.

<GRIPE> On a side note, it appears the beta is pretty well hacked, because I'm getting one-shot head-shot at long ranges with PISTOLS by players. And the BOTS are way OP as far as reaction time and accuracy is concerned. Oh, and of course, bunny-hopping to reduce damage is still going on. </GRIPE>

If it goes on much longer, I will record matches and submit them to Steam.

I haven't been all that interested in CS:GO until recently when I learned that, unlike previous CS titles, it will have a full soundtrack (which can be turned off in the options menu for those who don't want it). I heard a clip that plays during the last 10 seconds before the bomb goes off in Defusal mode, and it is awesome. Definitely has me paying attention now. It's amazing how much more dramatic tension can be added to CS scenarios by adding a little music.

Having not played the beta, I don't know if there's any music in it yet or not. Is there?
