OK folks, b1 is ready!

Check it out!

Hopefully we can get a full server on to check the FPS for everyone... I'm worried about it being so open, and with props and water it might not be playable.

i'm not a fan of the doors, maybe a sliding door style would fit better, the ones on there bugged on me at least once and wouldn't open right. the opening behind the goals seem like too easy of a hiding spot, and too much of a concern for getting the cube lost. also the top room above the spawns with the 100% med chests seem like a bit of overkill to me. goalkeeping is good and all but that seems excessive.

i do like the size of it though quite a bit and the water seems a little easier to get out of then before , which is also nice.

My main complain would be the jagged edges on the sides of the map where the cube gets stuck quite often.

I have made some more good changes. Most are optimizational. The map was lagging pretty bad for people with mediocre systems.

Download:

http://www.theville2.org/downloads/cube_splash_b2.bsp

- Replaced wooden doors with sliding grates, those doors were horrible sorry! lol

- as mentioned, lots of optimizing (to the best of my knowledge). Still only getting 40 fps when I should be capped out at 60.

- moved sg to more logical, effective spot

- eliminated weird occurance of cube creating splashes on dry ground

- adjusted clipping to keep cube on a smooth playing field (as TTHREAZ pointed out)

The map should run alot smoother than b1. But, still not up to par. I can't seem to figure out what is killing the FPS. =(

The map is almost 2mb smaller than b1 with more things, so optimizing has done a little help.

So, I narrowed it down to the 3d skybox that was cauing all the FPS loss. Here is the same map, minus the performance robbing 3d skybox. :)

Until I get a better solution in place, please use this version.
