Custom Maps

I personally havent played any, but lets try and decide on ONE custom map that we could add to TV4. (if silver agrees. )
List your top two favorites, then maybe we can play test a few of them. (Ill even setup a server on my box so its decided without any extra strain on the TV4 admins.

Outside of Iceworld, and it's couter-parts, the only custom map's that I've really played are either GunGame, FunYard or Zombie mod maps. I can't think of any right now (Shhhh, I'm at work), but I'll check out what maps I have installed when I get home in a couple of hours or so.

Definatly no zombie maps. They ruin the entire concept of the rpg server. I dont know any names but i like aim maps.

I went to a site and found the two most downloaded maps. One is a DE map in the congo and looks like it would be fun. Lots of inclines that might be really cool with the RPG mod. I say we can try it out one night.
The other is called cs_bedbugs. It reminds me of turkeyburgers and should be played with low gravity
this is really a funny map and I think it would be fun to switch up the serious gameplay. Mabey a map the admins can change to. Anyway I have them for you to download. The congo one needs to be extrtacted into the directory above maps, since it includes some sounds and extra stuff. The bedbugs zip is just the map, so you can extract it into the maps directory.
I'll see if silver can install on the server.

I have no problem adding custom maps. Problem is most don't include a .nav file for the bots. I know some do, but most map makers don't.
There may be a way to turn off bots on certain maps and back on after. I have to do some research.
We can turn off the bots for all maps, but I worry about that.

I wouldn't turn the bots off. I will look for nav files, or look for custom maps with CS files. When I looked a few months ago I found a site that included waypoints for their maps.
Also, I noticed that CS will build waypoints for a map, so the bots know where to go. Probably no the best, but it work on the local setup when I added bots. I wounder if that gives us the .nav file.

That is true. It will make a file for the bots. On some maps its ok.. ill check these 2 out later.

I made one for the congo map on my LAN. Didn't look so good. The CT's looked lost and my T just stayed in spawn.
I guess it is difficult and/or unkown how to specify no bots on one map?

OOOHHHHH! Does anyone know if there are Underworld player models out for CS:S? Deathdealers vs. Lycans!!! If not, I think we should pool the Ville talent and make some. This map would be perfect! Underworld models + RPG mod would occupy my free time for awhile!

Alright, so I was not too busy today
I found some more stuff. A new map and the correct .nav file for the congo map. Here is a site that has several .nav files for different maps if we ever need it again (
.NAV DOWNLOADS) I went and browsed the pub servers for the custom maps they were playing, and to see which were actually being played. The new map I found is called de_contra. Looks to be a larger map, but very well done again.
So, here are all the maps I have suggested and they all have .nav files with them (except for the bedbugs map)

Cool, now to get silver to do more work.
