Steam update...

Steam released a new update for Source games that adds a variable that blocks servers from executing commands on the clients. It is good to prevent abusive admins from messing with your config. However, it also blocks non-abusive admins or server plugins from doing some things. So this blocks votes, sounds, slaying, etc.

So everyone should type this command in their console to disable it if you want to be able to vote or hear sounds and stuff:
cl_restrict_server_commands 0

That will fix it until Mani releases an update or something...

It's still a good idea for everyone to change that setting for now.

Ok, but why won't source save any of my favorites anymore. Each time I get on a server I have to log in through the console.

I have had the same problem for a long time. The Steam client saves no record of recently played servers and will not let me add servers to my favorites. If anyone knows why or what I can do to fix that it would be awesome.

ya, I wish the favorites and recent were working in steam. I guess Im just used to using work arounds for steam's ineptness. I do like dog said, click the links on the front page.

There is a way to fix that....go into your source server list, click on change filters, then click on anti-cheat and select secure. At least thats how I fix mine in dod 1.3.
The forums on Steams website also should answer this question for ya as well.
