Issue on server IV

Post by Tseeneth » Wed Nov 28, 2012 11:59 pm

I've been playing six hours today and probably been 6 or 7 times kicked out of maps (after a freezing screens).
Mostly on "Donner", "Avalanche"...
And it happened always when more than 4-5 people... The less people the less of those crashes...
And when it happen it only happen to me, everybody are still there when I connect again...
Did I was not nice to be quicked out that way?

I have had that happen to me, before, on most games.
Very often it is because of a laggy Internet connection on my side.
I'll check the server, though.

Does the same thing happen on TV9?

Something I noticed on IV, but haven't tested on IX - playing zombie team, using Grey Dude character. Map = Flash, flag = Axis2 (by the Tiger). Direct spawn on the flag, I get stuck on something - the flag, I think. Can't move in any direction, including jump.

I am having difficulty these days playing zombie - when I switch teams, people drop, then I get switched to Allies. Then people get back on. :(

Well? You will have to update the servers first, because I get "The server are working with an old version of the game" message... :D
I will try then...

Tonight I started to play 2 hours on IX (66.240.202.11:27026)
No problem

I connected on IX (66.240.202.11:27025), played 30 minutes
No problem

Then I connected to IV, I was ejected after 5 minutes...
I re-connected to IX (66.240.202.11:27025), I was immediately ejected...
Then I could play like 20 minutes and got ejected again...

I decided to finally go back on IX (66.240.202.11:27026)
And there, I still have no problem...

I bet IX (66.240.202.11:27026) is the old IX we played before you built 27026 one, no?
Could it be related to PING?
Are there any settings, regarding players connections, on 68.232.171.169:27015 and 66.240.202.11:27025 that are different on 66.240.202.11:27026?

TV4 is a rental server which is run by GameServers and is located in Chicago.
TV9 is Stevo's server located in California, so theoretically, TV4 should be closer to Belgium, so you should be getting a better ping.
Other than that, the two servers are pretty much identical.

I'll do some more checking, but I'm not happy with TV4 right now.

Playing on IX (66.240.202.11:27026) ...
The points are not added to our main score???
Is it because that server doesn't stands between the two others on theville.gameme.com ?
When I kill zombies over there, I don't see any score...

I played a few hours as well on IV tonight and I had only one big crash, it was due to my daily internet connection reset
Going really better...
Thanks!

Hi,

I think points are recorded on both servers but IV doesn't record kills and other stats ... been like that for ages - it doesn't affect gameplay.

I sometimes get a graphics driver crash and it kicks me out to the desktop. I can't switch back into the game so I have to kill the exe and then restart the game.

free tip of the day: smoke em!

Pravda... You missed something...
There are 3 servers online actually...

IV 68.232.171.169:27015
IX 66.240.202.11:27025
IX 66.240.202.11:27026

IX 27026 was added just a few days ago.
The score issue I am talking about is on that one...

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a momentous day. We here have proof that Dog has not only programmed an excellent mod, he has also created a self-aware program that for all practical purposes is alive in a truly biological sense. Two L4DoD servers, left alone and without written instruction, have reproduced and created a third L4DoD server, unbeknownst to we humans, which hosts games and broadcasts its presense all on its own. This new server clearly retains inherited traits from its parents, while also demonstrating the slight mutations necessary to the survival of the species. Soon, the servers will come for us. I, for one, welcome our new machine overlords...

Is this the issue of Valve broadcasting the wrong IP addresses for servers? I know we had an issue with that on TV7 a couple of days ago.
