Donating and being immune to ban when cheating.

Post by Amunous » Sun Jan 30, 2011 10:21 pm

I think you guys should seriously reconsider the never ban rule if someone has donated, only in extreme cases, say that someone is cheating, blatently.

Just because someone has donated shouldnt make them immune to being kicked for breaching the rules of the game.

If they are doing things that is disrupting the game play of others and they are laughing in your face about it, they should have their immunity removed.

It should be the same as everything in life you cheat and you have your privliges removed. No refund of money you lost it because you broke the rules. I find it silly that someone can hide behind the fact that they have donated money.

Ok yeah they are helping to keep the servers running, but at what cost? If they are cheating and you recind their right to not be banned then your infront, and it would make others think twice before doing the same. If you know your going to lose your donation for cheating your going to think twice before you do it.

Very true Amunous!
And I know exactly who you are talking about and it's getting really annoying.
I know most of the Aus/NZ regulars are starting to play else where due to him being on also.
Its not a good look for the ville.

Completely agree with the above.

At the very least, remove the versus and have coop only.

the only immunity donating provides is reserved slot kicking, that is it. If someone is cheating file a complaint with as much info as possible, screenshots or demos or chat logs. and we we will our best to remedy the situation.

Paying a donation doesn't mean one has free reign to be a dick.

My thoughts exactly.

Just because someone donates, doesn't mean it gives them full immunity.

Like Giz said being a supporter does not give a person ban or kick immunity. It only gives them a reserved slot and kick protection from that. Being a supporter does not give anyone the right to do anything that would break any of the rules that we have.Supporters and non supporters alike follow the same set of rules and guidelines. If you are having a problem file the complaint and it will be dealt with as soon as possible.

There is no such rule about supporters, I'm not sure how you got that impression. It's simply immunity from being kicked automatically by someone joining with a reserve slot. Anyone who is found to be cheating is immediately subject to a permanent ban, regardless of their standing within the community or donation status.

I can think of at least one person who was here for some time, even guilded, who was found to be cheating, and he was dealt with as swiftly as anyone else.

Hi guys,

My apologies if I have posted this in the wrong thread/forum but can you help me out please?

I was on your Aussie left4dod server today (very cool and lots of fun) and was afk for a few minutes - when I came back on line I found that I had been kicked from the server and when I went back to connect got a message from Stem that my account had been disabled.

I've put in a request to steam but was wondering if you had had similar problems lately?

Thanks,

Zippy

Thanks Tacobell,

You're right, I've ended up putting in a new thread in the following spot - http://www.theville.org/forums/viewtopi ... =3&t=18641 - seemed like the right spot?

Cheers,

Zippy

This, this, and this again, bolded and underlined in the largest font the forum permits for emphasis.

Cheating by ANY person in any way, shape, or form is not condoned or permitted at The Ville. Period.
