Custom map discussions

Which maps would you like to see?

Remember that they have to have fog.
Check with EntEd to see if the map has fog.
It also helps that there is some cover since the Zombies can spot you a mile away!

Maps that would work

dust2_slg
dod_bouddha_b2


Maps that kinda work but have issues - too open or bad atmospherics

Flurry
Harrington
Highlander

We used to have to make sure that maps had 20+ spawn points but I have since recoded the mod to add points it doesn't have

Dust2 would be a bit of a s hit fight. Fun for a novelty perhaps but not as a permanent feature. Bouddha is pretty good. I still like Harrington lol but I understand it doesn't have the scary feel your going for, it's your game after all =]

I'll have a look at some maps when I get home. I'm on the back 9 now so shouldn't be too long =]

you can ad spawn points that way, and be server side only, meaning no download.

Check for a env_fog_controller entity.

Harrington doesn't have one.

Damn that fog entity threw a spanner in the works haha. I dont know how important it is so I must marked those that do have it and those that dont.
These maps have 20+ spawn points, numbers are next to them.

dod_hobofire – 32 -Fog

i think you'd like flugplatz as its already dark and scary like :)

I think the fog entity has to be added before the maps loads - in other words, part of the bsp.
There *might* be a way to hack it via code.

I can always try to decompile maps and add fog/spawn points then recompile.


easy process...... in theory

edit: I wouldn't mind bouddha, but I'd rather santos :D

I should mention, that l3eeron is our expert mapper!
His attention to detail is legendary!

Recompiling would be one possibility, but it would need a different name!

You can edit/add/remove point based entities using EntEd without recompiling.

As a general comment, I would love more maps. I like the existing maps, but more might be nice, just to spice things up. :)
