Left4DoD "Tweaking" Suggestions

I have been playing way to much of the DoD left for dead mod (21 hours this week) on your server and I have noticed some things that maybe could be tweaked a bit to make the experience better in my opinion.

Weapons:

1. The K98 isn't a one hit kill. With the reload time for this weapon and no melee attack like the thompson this weapon is seriously flawed at the moment. I propose a one shot kill with this weapon at any hitbox not just the head.

2. The Sniper rifle isn't a one hit kill... With the fog effects in the left4dead maps this sniper rifle should be one hit kills even if the K98 isn't. I would suggest also that the pistol on this loadout be given more ammo clips.

3. The Rocket should have the same damage/damaging effect area as a grenade. See above for the reasons why and multiply them by 100x for zombie killing. This might need some tweaking as well but hitting a zombie square being the only way to kill with the rocket is just silly.

4. Slightly decrease the damage on the thompson/mp40. Right now this is the best gun in the game in my opinion with the melee option and the pure headshotty-ness

5. The Garand should be a 2-3 shot kill. Otherwise I think it is fine.


General Play:

1. Ammo drops from zombies should add secondary ammo as well. Or maybe have an ammo can drop that adds to secondary ammo.

2. Seeing invisible players shadows in flashlights. Can this be fixed?

3. Throttle an auto votekick for players over 250+ ping (maybe even 200).

4. A map vote at the end of every map maybe?

5. Using iron sights on K98/Garand should disable the effect of what I call "Jerky shots" while under the effect of the Gas Mans Gas.


Zombie Play:

1. Is it possible to give a score to the grey man for kills made by spawning zombies? (I don't think this may be possible but I will stick it here anyway)

2. Sometimes it takes over 7 attacks from behind to kill someone. Is this a bug?

3. Add a cross-hair to the witch so you can teleport with more accuracy.

Okay.
I thought this topic would be something else.
I would suggest renaming the topic to "Left4dod Tweaking Suggestions".
I know I probably sound picky. Lol :D

But, I haven't played the game too much to know what you're talking about. It seems that you know what you're saying, though.

Weapons:
I won't talk about these because these are being continually tweaked.
K98 users always want their rifle to be one shot kills. The Zombies already start with 50 health instead of the usual 100.
I may tweak the weapons,again, in the future.

General Play:

Secondary ammo is unlimited. So dropping ammo for it is pointless.

This is by design. I want flash-lights to show shadows.

Not Ville policy. We have never done it before. But I've had numerous requests for this so I will discuss it with the other server ops.

4. A map vote at the end of every map maybe?
If you hang around TheVille long enough, you will know my feelings on map voting and how much I despise it.

Why bother gas them at all, then?


Zombie Play:

The actual in-game scoreboard cannot be changed without an SourceMod extension which I don't want to use because it makes the game unstable.

Allied soldiers often pick up Pills which gives them tons of health.

3. Add a cross-hair to the witch so you can teleport with more accuracy.
That's easy to do

Kicking anyone with over a 250 ping in Left4DoD is a terrible idea. More than any other game played on TheVille, Left4DoD attracts players from all over the world. I see people from Japan, Australia, and Europe all the time. The mod shouldn't be just limited to those with connections from the United States.

Very true frost, I've played with people, friends, and just guys/ gals I know, and they are from Russia, China, Denmark mostly... We can't just change it if we feel like it

Agreed, L4DoD has a massive foreign fanbase and alienating them could very likely kill the mod.

the autoaimlock is really terrible.
i always get kill because of it,its starting to get annoying.

what im talking about is autoaim for us the players.
it sucks.plz take it off.
its something like an aimbot and no recoil.

try it if you dont know what im talking about have 3 or more zombies
surround you,and use a thompson try to hit a zombie left of you or right
your shots will only lock to the one on the center.

to bad i cant play on the server i got banned .
i requested a ticket they said ban was for a week.
but it seems for ever now.i really want to play.

I've never experienced any sort of target-lock in Left4DoD. Is assisted aiming some sort of option in your settings perhaps?

There is no autoaim. What you might be experience are issues with the game engine.
When the new bot code gets released, it might improve.

Your ban gets lifted tomorrow.

Hey Dog i was thinkin it would be cool if you had a bottle of zero gravity formula we could get off a zombie when we kill it.
A time limit on the zero grav so if you are up in the air you would come crashing down . Something along those lines . What do you think? :D
