Ah yes, but those are entirely different circumstances. You could already be injured, I sneak up on you, I crit you, I recall several times running into you as a Scout. A Scout who challenged me to melee better crit, otherwise, one dead Scout coming up. Also, that counts all kills total. Granted, many of them were probably melee kills, but still.


The MeleeMania though, is an even playing field. Same HP, no sneaking, and I think they are turning off crits too.

If it makes you feel better, I also have a positive KDR against Clay, too. I'm not holding any high hopes of beating him...though if I do meet him, it will be in the finals.

Hmm...yunno? HMMM...

In other words, I'm good, but I'm just as prone to messing up as anyone. One missed swing is often the deciding factor between who wins and loses, in MeleeMania or in a real game. SO just bring your A game and try to take me down ;)

To my knowledge, we are not turning off crits. I like the crits.

What Carpe says is true. The MeleeMania is not like regular gameplay.

There have been many surprise upsets in past MMs. :wink:

Given the high number of close matches we had for Spies, we may in fact be turning off crits.

I like the crits as well, it's fun to get that lucky crit at the most opportune time. They can make or break a match.

As a tradeoff for the backstab the butterfly knife is not capable of critting iirc.

Personally I am ambivalent about crits. They are a double-edged sword.

I think the crits make MeleeMania more fun. It takes the edge off "skillz" etc. Lucky crits remind us that this is not a serious competition.

Plus, it's funny as hell to see someone get KO'd. :lol:

Honestly, crits should be turned off because the longer someone is in game warming up and beating on people, the higher their chance of getting a crit is come match-up time.

Does turning cheats on and off negate the crit percentage increase?

I'm not so sure that is true. I know that changing teams would kill it, and it's common that players have to switch come match time.

I don't know. That's a good question. The map does that BTW if anyone is wondering. It's not the admins.

Can we lessen respawn time this month? It sucks waiting 15 seconds for players to respawn, especially during the intermission insanity.
