Getting old?
Getting old?
Is anyone else kinda geting sick of TF2?
I mean I've played with all the classes and its kinda same thing over and over and over again.
TFC was somewhat different.
Thats my 2.6 cents anyway.

Re: Getting old?
It's just due to playing TFC all those years. TF2 is new but not THAT new.
Take a break!
Take a break!

I have a butt and you do too. Let's be friends.

Play something different for awhile, I suggest CoD4 or portals. You need to switch it up from time to time to keeps things fresh.
Of course playing TF2 over and over again will get boring, its the same with every other leisure activity.
I am sure if you played TFC to death, it will seem to get boring after awhile. I think what made TFC maybe unique is that is was a first style of team warfare available online.
Everything in moderation.

i can kind of understand what you are saying. TFC will always be special and unique and even though i was just as excited as everyone else when TF2 was finally released, it personally lacked in 'team fortress' gratification.
TF2 is a different game and really can't be compared to TFC. i've been trying to mix things up with other games so that i don't get burnt out from it cause i honestly started feeling like i was-but i never had that feeling with TFC and i'll jump into a game of TFC any day.
just mix things up and go with the flow i guess. as long as other villuns are playing TF2...i'll be there too.

Re: Getting old?
Agree with most of the above. If I really like something (a game/song/whatever), I have a tendency to wear it out until I tire of it.
Play Pirates, Vikings and Knights II. It's free. It's fun.
The really cool thing about the Half-Life series is the amateur mods. TFC and DoD were both free downloads originally.
Google "HL2 mods" and see what you find. Here's the ones I like:
PVKII (swords, axes...parrots)
Dystopia (futuristic "cyber-punk" game)
Insurgency (present day combat with realistic physics)
All three are very well-made FPSs, entertaining and totally FREE.
I bought CoD4 about a week and a half ago. It was an interesting distraction, but I'm already kinda "meh" about it.

Re: Getting old?
In general, I can't stand to play TF2 for more than an hour at a time unless there's some friends on. Then I either go do some work or play a different game. When Smash Bros Brawl comes around, I'll probably be using TF2 as my "break" game.

What's great about the Ville as a community is that it extends the life of the game. There's so much more to get involved with other than just jumping on a server and deploying another ubercharge.
It helps that Valve is working to keep the game fresh, too.

That happens mr_s, there are other game servers here if you need a break from TF2. We have DoD 1.3, DoD:s and TFC, just steam msg some friends and ask them to join you.
We also have a server going with the game Art of Ascension, supplied by Blown. We don't advertise it shame on us, but here's a plug for it.
Here is the IP for the server and the Web site if you want to DL the game it's free and a HL mod.

Every game has a play life. A place like this definitely increases that tenfold, thats why every game I've really played regularly I used to run servers because that adds so much more to do than just play.
Personally, TF2 got boring just before christmas. I didn't play it for a few months and now I'm back and enjoying it daily. It fluxes regularly, but definitely gotta keep things changing.
