TF2 release date
So, the latest rumor is Oct. '07. Maybe this one's for real.

Re: TF2 release date
I don't think Valve has ever made a release date for anything.

Re: TF2 release date
Saw the other day that TF2 will allegedly ship on 10/9/07. We'll see.

Re: TF2 release date
Yeah, but FF seems to be identical to TFC with a new paint job. What's interesting/fun about that?

Re: TF2 release date
it won't be hard to play both versions...the only reason i'd see a divide happening is because someone had to choose one version over the other due to finances (which is completely understandable).

"Electronic Arts is distributing the games at retail as a package entitled Half-Life 2: The Orange Box, which also includes the original Half-Life 2 and last year's Half-Life 2: Episode One."
That's great. Go to bed with EA (aka The Great Satan of Gaming). The next thing you know, they'll scrap STEAM (which sux) for the EA Link (10x worse than STEAM, no kidding). I guess they just want all of us to buy consoles.

Re: TF2 release date
From planet half-life:
"Team Fortress 2 has one of the most complicated histories of any game ever made. Originating in April of 1997 as a planned sequel to the hit mod Team Fortress for Quake 1, the game was initially intended to be an add-on for Quake 2, but shortly thereafter made a switch to the Half-Life engine instead. After a few months of development, Valve decided to make TF2 its own standalone product rather than an add-on, so Team Fortress Classic was created to tide the fans over while the new game was developed from scratch."
I didn't realize TF2 originated in April of 1997!!! Ten years! That's gotta be a record!
I first heard of TF2 in '98 or '99, I think (the Brotherhood in Arms farce). There were screenies, pre-orders and everything then *POOF*
October can't get here soon enough!

Re: TF2 release date
Look up DukeNukem Forever. It beats TF2 for bizarre and lengthy history. But TF2 and DukeNukem Forever are in a class by themselves when it comes to how long they have been "in the making".
WORD for both:
Vaporware!! [Until I actually see the product!]
