So Valve just sent out a new volley of beta keys for Source Filmmaker, and I saw that several Villuns (myself included) now have SFM. I figured I'd make a thread where Villuns could show what they've made.

I've only made one video so far, entitled "Creepy Soldier." Let's see what The Ville has to offer!

Question: can you import recorded ingame .dem files and edit/create camera setups etc?

I don't normally record demos so I do not know about that. I would think it would be buggy since the SFM does not recognize new weapons too well. Even some of the stock weapons created errors for me.

It's in open beta now, so anyone can get it; but before it would just show up in your library, and you'd get an "Update News" window upon exiting a game session with a message telling you you have it.

@ Peahats: I think that Heavy/Sniper one is my favorite. Sniper's reaction really makes it complete.

I'll have to ask you later how you did the explosion, as while I'm not done with the tuts (and thus don't know if they cover that already ), that's something I want to play with later.

Explosions and other particle effects can be added with an animation set, just like with models and cameras. Though you do have to search through the game files 'til you find the "particles" folder.
