Well with the update came the option of purchasing (or recieving through drop, as I've heard) these little nametags that let you rename your weapons and hats, to give them a little personal touch and charm. Carpe has already renamed his fire axe "The Axe", which I think is just hilarious and great.

I'd like to hear any other, amusing, silly ideas some of you may have for some of the items.

I'll start us off! If I had a bunch of money lying around, I'd buy a whole stack of nametags and rename the following items:

Flamethrower - THE BURNINATOR

Sandvich - Yummy Times

Medigun - Buddy Beam

Tough Guy's Toque - I'd name this either Jayne's Hat, or Hero of Canton's Cap, after the character Jayne from Joss Whedon's Firefly series, which the hat is clearly a nod to.

Minigun - I'd either name it Sasha to go along with Natascha, or I'd name it "Vera", also after the character Jayne from Firefly. He named his favourite gun Vera.

Those are the ones I actually want to do for real, but here are a couple of silly "lol imagine if" ones I saw suggested in a thread like this on the Steam forums, and thought were amusing.

Sticky Launcher - SKILL CANNON

Scattergun - U MAD?

Heavy's Fists - Law and Order

Alien Swarm Hat - Bitey

Homewrecker - Spy's Lament

So, got any more? You don't have to actually want to rename your weapon/hat at all, they can just be funny "what if" ones might you think of.

I think I'm going to re-name my rocket launcher 'Davey Crocket.'

Homewrecker -> Mr. Sledge

Kritzkrieg -> Skill Beam

Holy Mackerel -> This Herring

Sandman -> A Rather Stunning Bat

Sticky Bomb Launcher -> Winbomb Launcher

In reference to the Simpsons Halloween where they are chased from the planet by people wielding sticks with nails through them.

Just thought of another Medigun one. "The Hand of Friendship".

Totally doing it. First nametag I get, Medigun is getting renamed.

I'd rename my rocket launcher Mr. T's Pity Launcher.

Other Mr. T themed names to follow.

I renamed three of my items -

My spy knife is now "Something Very Pointy" (so it will read "Alizée Fan is wielding Something Very Pointy."

My engy wrench is now "The Hammer of Justice" (An old joke from a couple rounds of melee where it wouldn't stop critting)

My Vintage Merryweather is now entirely made of gold, and is titled "The Golden Helm of Minerva" (pics in the Hat thread)

Degreaser -> Now You See It...
Axetinguisher -> Now you don't!

I repainted and renamed my Hustler's Hallmark last night, it's now the 'Golden Roller', guess the color.

Dead ringer -> Ham dinger
