Homewrecker is mandatory for pyros on Warpath if you're facing spies.
My favorite is sniping engineers as they rush up the ramp on the final point after all their stuff got taken out.

Homewrecker is worthless against non-spy teams. Any time where you could use it to break a building you're better off using the flamethrower to hit the engie at the same time.
Also, Axtinguisher is mandatory for solo-fighting Heavies.

Re: Favorite things to do on Warpath
On maps where you have a more reasonable chance of actually getting a flank on someone, the axetinguisher has a lot of merit even if the enemy is running a spy. The powerjack is really a great all-purpose melee weapon plus you might want a speed boost if you've got the complete set.
Obviously if your engie is getting overwhelmed by sappers swapping to the Homewrecker on any map is important, but I'd hesitate to call it mandatory. I used to run it all the time and realize I was going the entire map time without using it once.

If you're playing py-bro and helping the engineer guard the flag on CTF it's mandatory, eventually someone will come in as a spy and get in a lucky sap+stab on the engie, and desapping the sentry fixes alot of problems there.Plinko wrote:On maps where you have a more reasonable chance of actually getting a flank on someone, the axetinguisher has a lot of merit even if the enemy is running a spy. The Homewrecker can also be helpful during Ubers with its' 100% extra damage against buildings.Plinko wrote:Obviously if your engie is getting overwhelmed by sappers swapping to the Homewrecker on any map is important, but I'd hesitate to call it mandatory. I'm mainly just too lazy to switch weapons during a match
unless I'm playing Medic; so I always stick with my Homewrecker.
