Any chance of a stat reset ?
Re: Any chance of a stat reset ?
I don't care too much about KpD. Most people I play with have seen my imitation of the Light Brigade; if there are no teammates near me (or if they are staying too far back to be effective), I would rather try to keep the other team off balance for a few seconds and die than fall back and wait for support. Being able to get a sentry as it is going up or forcing a medic to blow his uber before his partner is set are both worth the death. I think my favorite instances are when half my team is dead, and half their team is chasing me in a circle instead of pressing on while the respawn timers are ticking. Giving ground uncontested gives them that much more time to find a good place to defend and dig in (or hit their uber that much closer to the sentries and spawn).

KPD doesn't measure much about a player. It doesn't take into account the different skill levels of the players involved, so a person with a higher KPD might just be facing easier opponents. It doesn't take into account the different maps the kills were earned on, so a person with a higher KPD might just be playing on a map that strongly favors their class. The KPD potential of different classes differs widely, as well. So if you wanted to measure the relative strengths of two players using KPD, you'd have to make sure they played on the same server at roughly the same time as the same class. Otherwise, there is no basis for comparison.
Of course, even after all of that, you have to consider that the highest KPD might come from a sniper who sits in some remote location doing nothing for the team. A lot of kills does not mean a lot of benefit to the team.
I enjoy the stats for the sub-pages. Weapon, Action and Map Statistics are fun to look at from time to time to see how some of the highest-scorers play. See who dedicates too much of their life to a single map, who suicide charges the point for that last-ditch defense effort, or who uses some of the more obscure weapons. Other than that, stats are mostly just bragging rights.

trying too hard for kpd just reminds me of a dod 1.3 player by the name of hoss delgado... yeah he'd have a 10:1 k:d ratio, but thats because at the end of the map ( where a decent 2:1 player could get 50 kills) hoss had 10 kills, but only 1 death.... for the whole map.

KPD is almost irrelevant I find.
Ask most players and they will let you know a great medic is the backbone of a team. And to my knowledge, medics don't have great KPD. That doesn't mean they aren't good. A great medic will win games, hands down.
I greatly enjoy the breakdown of weapon kills, map stats and of course, the hilarious daily awards. As a sniper though, I like seeing the percentage of headshots I get.

The weapon stats made me start using the scout pistol more, like a competent scout should.
