I finished preloading TF2, so I looked inside the GCF, and it looks like they're starting out with well, 2fort, dustbowl, and a bunch of new maps.

Pre ordered. I look at it like this EP1 and HL2 are free. 44 bucks for 3 new games good deal. Otherwise, you will have to wait till release day to purchase seperatley, per Gabe, at full retail TF2 $29.99. Spend a few bucks more and get it all. Portal will rock.

I will be playing the beta. Between this and the Crysis beta I am on, it shall be fun.


EDIT: A few more things about it. PC and xbox cannot play together. Max players pc are 24. Get ready for fluid maps.

My feelings exactly. Add me to the list of people that pre-ordered. I have been salivating over TF2 for years now, and it is finally coming out. Besides you normally have to pay $50 for a single game...I think it's a good deal (and I bought HL2 gold package). please forgive any grammatical errors...I am trying to type this in a bouncy train on my way to work

I was expecting to pay that much for Ep2/TF2/Portal anyway.

This may be hard to understand for some, but it's irritating to some of the older players. There was a time when you didn't have to pay for stuff like this. It was released to promote the longevity and continued sales of the main game. Unfortunately, this is the way it is now. You pay for everything.

I will, of course, be there for Beta Monday.

Hey guys/gals.

1. Quit being negative - look at it this way: You get HL2 and Ep1 FREE to give to a friend, they just worded it wrong.
2. Your time spent playing TF2 and Portal (also Peggle and Ep2) will look like this: (45.00/(time spent playing = (Portal: 5 minutes to 10 hours) + (TF2: Infinite) + (Peggle: 2 minutes) + (Ep2: 2 hours to 10 hours))
Therefore, if that equals 100 hours - which would be very easy, in DoD Source alone I have 150 hours just in the last 6 months, and that is LIGHT play - that comes to 45 cents per hour. So give it a rest.
3. Just pre-order so we can all have major funness next week!

Also, your pK friends are pre-ordering, so we will be around and ready to rock!

I can't wait! So, does anyone know if the beta is going to be run on private servers or special "steam-approved" servers? Is there going to be a Ville beta TF2 server?

That's true DOW, but don't forget your just beta testing, there's no saying how long the beta will be. I'm seriously thinking of pre-ordering, don't get me wrong, but I'd hate to pre-order all of that and the beta is like a week, I don't even have HL2 yet btw, so it is a good deal, but was just looking forward to TF2, heck I didn't even finish HL1 lol It looks like so much fun though, my engy!

On the steam forums someone said they won't be giving out the server files till the day of... I'm not sure if that means day of release or day the beta starts.. no clear answer as no one knows yet. I'm looking around still. Peggle, lol, is that the game with unicorns or something?
