Don't act like you're less of a nerd.[TOAD] Fano wrote:I absolutely despise unusual hats, they all just look silly.
if I ever get my hands on one I hear nerds pay upwards of $200 for them so I'll just sell it.

Re: Villuns with Unusual Hats
Let's speculate. On average, we get an unusual hat for every 100 crates. Opening each crate costs $2.50, so that's ~$250 per hat. He owns at least ten hats. So we do the math, and then my head explodes.NoodgeVader wrote:I would like to know how many keys Wyo has bought. I'm pretty sure it would buy a few Lobster dinners.

In all my hours of playing I have never once gotten a hat drop.Flaming Cheese Wheel wrote:Open a crate, win a prize—in about 1 out of 100 tries.
I appear to have one of those Steam IDs that barely ever gets hat drops, let alone unusual hat drops. This thread just reminds me that having a huge particle effect around one's head makes one more obvious. Sour grapes and all that.

that is awesome, I think it's a great combo.
Maybe someday Ill get one.... I've allowed myself 10 crates a month....
edit: apparently I can not delete my own posts
...must be some kind of permission conflict.

Didn't have to spend any money on it either. Was a Christmas gift from my favorite Beetle--HaDeS-- wrote:Nice Carpe! Good to see you finally got one.

Re: Villuns with Unusual Hats
I never got why people are into unusual hats, especially scout sniper, and spy ones.
Why would you want to draw more attention to yourself while ambushing someone? I swear scouts with unusual are easier to hit, because my mind can more easily focus on the bright shining lights.

Re: Villuns with Unusual Hats
Spy ones only show up when undisguised, and there's no way a hat effect sticks out more than an opposite team Spy among your teammates.
I do agree with you on Sniper ones, though. The last thing I want to do as a Sniper is call more attention to my head, especially with some of the bigger effects, they just give you away.

Still, as a spy the last thing you need is a sunbeams saying "HEY GUYS I'M A SPY AND I'M UNDISGUISED SHOOT ME!!"TheCarpe wrote:Spy ones only show up when undisguised, and there's no way a hat effect sticks out more than an opposite team Spy among your teammates.

Also probably not a good idea on a medic as your trying to avoid attention and last thing you want is some green energy.
"Hey guys where's the medic?"
"There he is, he's got fire coming out of his head, GET EM!"

I dunno, I'm so conditioned to the shape and look of the different classes that I'm looking more for a white coat than a shining hat.

I'm pretty sure you'll notice this hat setup before any unusual hat.
