Yes. It's stock game mode.

Yes, but for a trial period (two weeks).

Yes. Calling an Admin or Supporter to change maps is just too awkward.

No, because you can't grind and make tons of HLstats in Arena (MOAR DUSTBOWL!).

Not at all. Arena is lame and so are you for suggesting it.

No. I honestly just don't like Arena.

I'd be all for the 15-minute Arena thing. As I said earlier, it's fine as an occasional novelty. That said, if the number of players is above 16 (i.e. the number that can play every round), we'll probably see players bleed off. This might not be a bad thing as people will return once Arena is done. But if we could make sure that no players had to sit out, that would be ideal.

An arena map that is shortened to three wins or 15min is an excellent bit of fresh air between regular maps.

There are mods/plugins that allow you to play Arena mode with up to 16 players per side. Thats way too many for certain maps but the possibility is out there. . .

At the request of Bronze Fox recently, I began work on an arena based event. Maybe as early as July, we'll see.

If turnout is good and everyone enjoys it, we'll have them semi-regularly.
I have a butt and you do too. Let's be friends.

I voted for other, I think an arena server wouldnt work. However I do enjoy arena myself so I propose we play arena in our 9v9 nights for a few rounds.

I could take it or leave it.....mainly because the two classes I play now aren't well suited for Arena.

If the teams are big enough, every class is suited to arena. . . engineer can be tough but with 7 or 8 on a side they can be helpful. Demo can be difficult unless you're pretty good or you can coordinate with a few teammates to work together.

Classes that:

Fit perfectly in arena:

Demo
scout
soldier
medic
heavy
pyro

Struggle in arena (maybe)

Spy
sniper

I really don't think they fit in arena:

engineer

You do realize we do this all the time with our 1 arena map on TV2?

Hmmm I wonder if adding 1 arena map to some rotation servers (maybe only Tv10) would work.

An interesting system would be to have an arena map in the rotation, except everytime it shows up, it's voting.

So it would be like: (Ignore the random rotation)

Hydro --> Well --> 2fort --> Arena (Voting)

And for Arena, a bunch of random options would show up. So it's not limited to just Sawmill or Lumberyard.

I have no idea if that's possible, though.
