Getting old?
Re: Getting old?
I never played TFC in the past so i didn't have any expectations going into it. maybe that's why i enjoy it so much because all i can really compare it to is CS1.6.
Thankfully it's not getting old for me yet, but then again, I don't really have a lot of time to play it.

It hasn't got old for me yet, but that's because I focus on the people who play, as well as the silly or funny things they do.
there's usually something someone does that keeps the game interesting for me. A suicidal bone-saw crazy Medic that had EVERYONE on our team laughing as we killed him endlessly, or the time when an enemy demo and heavy on Hydro came up to an engineer and two medics (one of them me), and the other medic got the idea to uber me so I could saw the heavy (again, tons of laughs as we knew he did NOT expect that to happen!) or just me and Ethernaut talking about Heavy Metal & Glam Rock and other 80's music as a random conversation to keep things entertaining.
Of course, College also takes time away from the game, so that keeps it from getting stale as well. You ever paint 200+ color palettes and cut them out into half-inch by half-inch squares and place them on a grid to show tints & shades progression? With VERY expensive paint that costs over 8 bucks for a tiny tube? It gets very tedious and time consuming and it sure as Hell takes away any thoughts of video games, except maybe tetris, which is now forever tainted for me.

TF2 isn't really old or boring to me yet. But I don't play as much as a lot of you guys. I usually try to do an hour or two every couple of days.

Re: Getting old?
TF2 is a fantastic game and very very fun. But unless there is someone else on that I enjoy playing with I don't usually play more than an hour.
Games like TF2, for me anyway, are all about the people on the server. That's where the fun comes in.
However a break game is a good idea. I usually go dig through my closet and see what old games I have. I found MechWarrior Mercenaries a few days ago while moving. I almost forgot how much I love the MW games. In fact they need to make a new one.
I'm above average in TF2, but in all the MW games I burned through people. I miss those days

I really like TF2 but sometimes i do feel a little bored because sometimes there is just no class that you can actually do anything with... Other than that i think that TF2 is really fun.
Is anyone else kinda geting sick of TF2?
I mean I've played with all the classes and its kinda same thing over and over and over again.
TFC was somewhat different.
Thats my 2.6 cents anyway.
That happens mr_s, there are other game servers here if you need a break from TF2. We have DoD 1.3, DoD:s and TFC, just steam msg some friends and ask them to join you.
We also have a server going with the game Art of Ascension, supplied by Blown. We don't advertise it shame on us, but here's a plug for it.
Here is the IP for the server and the Web site if you want to DL the game it's free and a HL mod.

Too much to download if you ask me.
I've tried diff mods for HL2 and its ok now.
And yeah, if I see someone on DODS server I jump on that one instead..
Thanks for teh advice..
In general, I can't stand to play TF2 for more than an hour at a time unless there's some friends on. Then I either go do some work or play a different game. When Smash Bros Brawl comes around, I'll probably be using TF2 as my "break" game.
Re: Getting old?
Oog, I keep expecting to get tired of TF2, yet it's just not happening. I've alienated myself from 90% of my old CS:S clanmates because I never play with them anymore, and whenever someone asked me about it, I always told them that I'm sure I'd be back when I eventually tire of TF2. Think the last time I told one of them that was...December?

No, the game has not gotten stale for me yet. A couple other games have come and gone since I got TF2 but they've always fallen through the cracks and become the "break games" people were mentioning earlier. However, the one game that stands to finally dethrone TF2 as my main game will be out in seven days, and it's already been mentioned.
Brawl.
Be prepared to see my TF2 time take a sharp dive when that comes out
