I don't mind mentoring. I like passing on tricks... at least until I see them used against me (Pwnstar).

I'd listen. Don't know if I am skilled enough to apply what I listen to though. I know flanking tactics and what not but I just can't get aiming down at times with the shot gun.TTHREAZ wrote:I can show you a few things if you'd like.Checkm8 wrote:I chose specific class mentee because I stink at scout!

Re: Mentors/Mentees?
For all the people that want to learn scout or the other main classes, lobbies can sometimes help. Some people take it a litte too hard if your not doming the whole other team, so be aware. I met a guy ive never heard of, scream for minutes then leave, just cause when he said that hes "famous", i didnt asked him to sigh my face.(I put that in here for lulz)The reason why is because you can learn a lot from getting your butt kicked multiple times in a row. Your first time, don't expect do do even come close to good, just keep plugging along and listen to your teammates. I think its http://www.tf2lobby.com or just google it.
Be aware! Some of the people can be pretty rude.

Just unload, point blank, in their general area. Over time, try and aim closer and shoot less.Checkm8 wrote:I'd listen. Don't know if I am skilled enough to apply what I listen to though. As far as straight up improving your aim I think MGE might be a better choice, especially for someone that doesn't know the ins and outs of 6v6 play.6Larry9 wrote:For all the people that want to learn scout or the other main classes, lobbies can sometimes help. Finding a good sensitivity is also essential, I'm going to go ahead and shamelessly plug my guide again

Re: Mentors/Mentees?
I don't think I'm skilled enough to mentor in any specific class. I've played sniper, soldier and demo with 70% of my playtime but I'm only a little above average.
I wouldn't mind being taught a thing or two about spies. I'm terrible with them, of my 300 hours I've spent only maybe 15 hours on them. Then I watch spies like Nighty, Sherlock and Shoes utterly destroy me. I can't help but think I might play them more if had some semblance of what I was doing.

it is, and while it won't teach up much about positioning, it can greatly improve your aim and your focus.6Larry9 wrote:isnt that like a 1 v 1 thing? ive heard of it, and some of my friends do it, but i dont have the map, and i didnt really care to download it.Fano wrote:As far as straight up improving your aim I think MGE might be a better choice, especially for someone that doesn't know the ins and outs of 6v6 play.6Larry9 wrote:For all the people that want to learn scout or the other main classes, lobbies can sometimes help. Here's a short video showing off some gameplay, the classes you can play depend on the server, most limit it to soldier/scout/demo, since it's competitively oriented, others, like the reddit MGE server, allow other classes like sniper and pyro, if I recall correctly.

Oh that Hefe... he is so modest.El_Hefe wrote:if i mentor... it would show how NOT to be a pyro!
Hefe, you're just out of practice, vato.
But you still got that charm... and your medics love you.

Re: Mentors/Mentees?
I would be happy to do mentoring in Medic. I suck at pretty much everything else, but I have enough hours (about 1000) at medic to feel confident.

That mge thing looks pretty chill. If anybody wants to do it sometimes, I could do a litte scoot vs scoot.
Re: Mentors/Mentees?
I used to run a HW Guy (heavy) school in the hay days of TFC many years back called Assault (@). Most of the people who underwent training there, were clan players who played in organized TFC leagues. If anyone is interested in learning the ropes just drop by the Dustbowl server and ask. I have been playing the Heavy class for well over 12 years now, so I know a thing or two about how to play it. Just be forewarned, I tend to be fairly demanding
