EDIT: OK, now I need some advice. I've got enough metal to make a random hat. Should I go for it (I'm most likely gonna just try to trade whatever I get) or should I save up more metal and specifically craft one of the new polycount hats? Would anyone here be willing to trade any of the two older hats I'm after for a specific polycount hat (you could pick)?

Save up the metal. I made the mistake of crafting a random hat mere hours before I learned you can specifically craft the poly set hats, and now I'm in need of 3 more refined, and stuck with a Toque and Houndog I don't need.
