Dark Messiah: Might and Magic

Post by Dog » Thu Dec 07, 2006 9:26 am

So my wife's bought me it for Christmas...
What's it all about?

I'm guessing it's Dungeons and Dragons on the Source engine....
...or is it like a FPS for Warcraft...?

well its not D&D, if you mean by the rules...its more like Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. My bro has it and loves it. The Multiplayer mode is like the BF series, i think.

I bought it and I like it. It really tests my patience with the long load times though. Other than that its a great single player game - haven't found any servers running yet for multiplayer.

I've only watched some videos of it and it looks awesome, I'll have to give it a try some time.

Yes there are servers. Just fire up steam and do search by game. It can be tough to find a full server in the US with a decent ping but I've manged to play it quite a bit. Multiplayer is not as good as the single but it's pretty good.

Ok I have played it now. Once of the best games I have played. So far just working on the single player campaign, but it is graphically beautiful and has a fun story line to it.

Ok, first off...I know nothing about this game, but my husband bought and played it awhile ago. He liked it.
Then he got Fear: Extraction point (I think this is like the second one of the Fear games)...I saw a little of that...pretty darn scary :x
He usually play single player games, he's not so much into multiplayer which is kinda sad 'cause I would like him to play more DOD...
anyway, this past weekend I thought I'll play halflife 1 - the very first 3D game that grabbed my attention...way back when, when we were still dating...he was playing it and I was just intrigued, he made it look so easy...until he gave over the mouse control to me and it turned into a major disaster :-) LOL I can still remember how funny it felt and how dizzy i got and how very oddly I would look up to the ceiling when in fact I wanted the game guy to look up
HAHA the memories...good times LOL
anyway, sorry, i got a little off track...as i was saying, this past weekend i wanted to play halflife 1, set it up as EASY but it was still hard..and scary!! I don't like the monster things that look like giant ticks and I died so many times and couldn't remember what i was supposed to be doing or where i was supposed to be going etc etc
maybe i should just play halflife 2 and forget about 1. any advice??

Hi Kate, happy new year!

If I were you I would play em both! lol if you got time...

As far as HL1, play until you get stuck and frustrated, then look it up in a walk through. Dont forget to listen to all the scientists, they tell you clues.

HL2 is an awesome game. I still haven't finished it yet  Im not that big on single player games. But the story and graphics are very nice so I would tend to play HL2 more.

...and Dark Mesiah is an other cool single player but like I said in the past, the load times kill the flow of gameplay
