Has anybody been unable to enable weapon quick switch? When I click that option, it just doesn't register.

I've been playing on Hard which, surprising, has been quite challenging. I remembered having difficult times with On a Rail in HL1
so I wasn't looking forward to it much in Black Mesa but it seems like they cut out a lot, if my memory serves me right.
I remember having to shoot a sign to switch your rail and I also remember the Marines being everywhere with tons of bunkers and MG's.

One thing that made the whole level a lot easier for me was my "mounted" turret.

It worked really well and didn't shoot me, it was amazing.

Anyone else getting bored with this? I was never one to replay a single-player game more than once. Half-life I've played 3 times. Now playing through black mesa it looks and feels amazing but I'm just getting bored.

I'm disappointed to discover that this gives me the same motion sickness that I got with the original Half-Life. I thought it was just the low-poly graphics since I never experienced it with HL2 or later games, but I'm starting to think it's the abundance of narrow corridors, as another game I've been playing causes similar problems only when the character is moving through a tight space... I have to quit every few minutes to recover.

Otherwise though, I'm impressed with the effort that went into this. I liked seeing Eli and Kleiner, although Eli's voice doesn't sound like him IMO. I'm eager to see how that cliffside level looks with these newer graphics.

I'm enjoying the game, but the sound localization issue is really bothering me. The problem is that sound directly to my right should sound mainly from my right headphone, but it does not. So basically, I hear zombies through walls constantly and never know where they are.

Try playing on a harder difficulty? I assume you're on Normal?

I just tend to play in short bursts, like 30-45 minutes at a time rather than having a marathon session. Maybe that would help?

I'm loving the power of the Hivehand. I remember it being really bad in HL1 but it has been insanely useful on Hard.

Hivehand was awesome in HL1, maybe you were playing on easy back when you were 10 and never felt the need to preserve ammo. ;)

I still hate jumping puzzles.

The conversion itself is pretty good, but some of the changes made for gameplay were confusing when I really, really expected to have to do something and it wasn't the same.

Also, as someone who intentionally waited for Black Mesa: Source in order to play the HL1 story, I think it's awesome, and is honestly what I was expecting in terms of quality.
