So has anyone else preordered it?

I wasn't sure if I wanted it, but I was hooked by the second stage of the demo when I got my jump pack.

demo here:

Okay I just played the demo. It's cool. I'll grant it that. The thing that'll stop me from buying it till I can get it at half price is that it's almost TOO hack and slash. Reminds me of those countless hours and games of Dynasty Warriors that I played. Whenever you turn around there's another horde of things to kill.

Anyway, maybe I'll rent it for my xbox. I'm sure after a week I'll have had enough of it.

yeah same here, doesnt look like much replay value and I think the multiplayer is going to suck because there are only 4 guns

What is wrong with this franchise? They seriously have some issues. I always felt like scumbag because I got a free copy of warhammer 40k and never made it past the first level. The problem is the game rarely liked to work, steam has me played 88 minutes.

Now I go to play this demo and heyooo. It won't let me use my keyboard and mouse because I have a 360 controller always plugged in. I'm not going to unplug stuff on my computer whenever I want to play that game. It can't be that hard to have an in-game toggle to go from keyboard/mouse to controller. No instead they completely lock out keyboard/mouse if you have a 360 controller plugged in.

Relic entertainment has a franchise with a huge genre and their games sell well... but seriously, they are not user friendly. I can make warhammer models, paint them, and smash them together and it would be more effective than Relic's games.

SHORT VERSION: Relic makes great looking games but I can never play them because they have so many problems.

So did you try it with the joypad? How did it handle?

No, I don't feel like reaching behind my computer. Reading the steam forums it seems some other people are annoyed by this. There is an option in the game menu to change from keyboard/mouse to gamepad that servers no purpose. If the game detects a USB controller it is locked on the controller. People in the forums are also saying that it does the detection every time the game is played so unplugging it once and changing the options doesn't do anything, you must have the controller unplugged every time you launch the game.

So the game gives first priority to joypads, but you didn't try it with the joypad?

This is easily one of the worst complaints I've heard for a game. I have to switch peripherals around all the time since I usually have either a wheel or a 360 controller plugged in. More often than not, even when I select one over the other the games wont run right without unplugging the other. A cheap usb extension cord took care of any annoying problems for me.

I ended up unplugging it. The problem is I keep all my cords behind my computer nicely wrapped up and zip tied to keep the area clean and organized. Having to unplug the controller requires me to slid my tower out, and then guess what plug it is by color. Sadly, when I unplugged it today my headset slipped off knocked over my glass of water, and it hit the keyboard managing to quit the game I was playing. Most likely will not plug my controller back in until I get(if) a copy of dirt 3.
