I've been enjoying it so far but I do not like everything I'm hearing about the ending.

I'm disappointed because all of my favorite characters have already died or I can't choose them for my squad, shame. I'm not even that far through the game yet :(

I'm loving the game so far, but I'm really scared because everyone is saying the game is really bad. Of course people are also saying tali's face is really bad and I disagree.

Many characters in the game can die depending on your choices. After one play-through check wikia to see if maybe there was a way to keep that character alive.

I'm having a blast so far as well. I think it definitely takes it up a notch from ME1 and ME2 in terms of scope and enjoyment. I thought the game was a bit corny at first, but as more and more people from the past games started to show up, I felt right back at home. It seems more humorous than past games as well. Garrus is my bff.

Although, doing all this planet scanning is becoming tedious.

Nothing like ME2. I knocked out every planet in under 30 minutes.

...except that they implemented the multiplayer HORRIBLY. 70% of the time I try to do a quick match, and first it gives me "Please wait" for 5 minutes, then "Your connection to the game has been lost."

I'm thinking they must have implemented the whole thing without any dedicated servers. They randomly choose a player to be the host without properly checking to make sure that player actually has their firewall configured to be able to accept incoming connections. Then they make all the other players try to connect, and have a ridiculously long timeout and no cancel button, so I sit there forever waiting for it to give up.

Things they could have done to fix it:
1. Dedicated servers!!!
2. When assigning a player to be host, try firing a few packets at that player to make sure they don't get eaten up by a firewall before sending other players to try to connect.
3. Put a cancel button on the connecting page so that if I do get stuck with an unreachable host, I don't have to wait 5 minutes.

*sigh*
Well, it seems that they fixed this issue with the full version. I've played about 5 multiplayer games, and none of them encountered this problem.

I do think it's kind of stupid though that Galactic Readiness decays over real world time though. Should be tied to time spent playing single player instead, or just not decay at all.

I haven't noticed this. But anyways, you can get to 100% in about an hour, plus if you do all the side missions in-game you don't need to play co-op at all.

Tali died for me at the very end of ME2

I was so damn mad when that happened T_T

Anyway, my galactic readiness started at 50% and has not budged since I started the game, is this a thing that can only be changed by playing the multiplayer or what?

Ya, multiplayer is supposed to represent what's happening in the overall war, instead of just what's happening to Shepherd and all.

Playing multiplayer raises the galactic readiness, doing well in multiplayer raises it faster, not playing at all lowers it by about 1% per day or so, but it will never drop below 50%.

Completing a bronze (lowest difficulty, ~20minutes) will raise total readiness 3%. Keep in mind, 50%-100% basically doubles your military strength in single player, so if you do all the side missions, all the best choices etc, you don't need to play multiplayer. But making sure that green bar is full, or half filled +100% galactic readiness will add that .2 second clip to the end of your end-game footage.

I believe the magic number is 5,000 to fill up the bar. So 5,000 without multiplayer or 2,500 with full multiplayer (aka galactic readiness).

As for everyone else who read my post about the planet scanning, bigbiker is right, it's much less annoying than before.

Looking forward to have more people finish the game so that we can talk about it...

I wrote up this awesome theory, no spoilers.

So in Mass Effect 3 the reapers come every 50,000 years or so and wipe out all intelligent life. Feature civilizations usually build off of what previous civilizations left behind. So I came up with this...

Let's say the reapers wiped out all the humans. Thousands of years later ponies evolve to the point and advance on human technology. They learn the languages we left behind, they use the tools we left behind, and build upon the architect we left behind.
Ponies evolve to hold bionic powers, fly, or hold brute strength. Some, though very rare, are capable of multiple traits. Soon, roughly Friendship is Magic season 7 episode 4, Twilight Sparkle and her squadmates/friends will discover notes about the reapers that were left behind from the human civilization and will have to fight the reapers for everyponies survival.

TL;DR: After reapers wipe out intelligent life (humans) ponies are the next cycle.

I'm trying so hard not to look at information outside of mission summaries in the prima guide as i go along with the story. the guide even puts spoilers upside down so surprise spoilers wont jump out at me.

I don't see why you would need a guide for this game.
