Stage 2:
We’ve made improvements across-the-board including improved matchmaking, enhancements to all characters, visual improvements to maps, optimized performance, and improved player experiences. It’s a free game, but it’s also a much better game.

In a attempt to revitalize the player base the Evolve developers switched it over to a f2p. I played it some in beta but disliked the pacing. Maybe worth revisiting.
