Re: Killing Floor
Same. I picked it up after ShiftyD made convincing arguments as to why I should buy it.
I am the 1%!

Re: Killing Floor
Oh, wow, a lot of Villuns are getting Killing Floor.
Hit me on Steam if you want an invite to the group.
As for the new players I found this helpful post on the Steam forums.
I highly suggest reading it.

I have noticed a lot of the Team Fortress 2 fans have been picking up Killing Floor in the past few days (either for the Twisted Christmas event, or the cool TF2 item tie-in). First off let me say thank you, and I hope you enjoy our game.
Second, I'd like to give you a few tips to help improve your Killing Floor experience as you try the game out for the first time:
1) Start off on Normal (or even Easy) difficulty at first. The biggest mistake new KF players make is jumping on a Hard, Suicidal, or now Hell on Earth difficulty server. The game has a natural difficulty progression from normal on up as you rank up your character. So stick with normal until you are at least level 2 or 3 on a perk. Then venture on to Hard. Suicidal usually requires a level 4 and above perk to be successful. And Hell on Earth should really only be attempted by level 5 or 6 perk players. In the server browser you will see horizontal colored bars on the left side next to each server name. Two yellow bars means it is normal difficulty, so please start there! There is also a filter for difficulty levels in the lower left, so I suggest setting that to normal to start.
2) Get to the Trader! The Trader is your lifeline. To survive you must use the money you earn killing zombies to upgrade your weapons, buy ammo, armor, etc. The trader is only open in between waves of specimens, so use the arrow in the upper left of the screen to guide you as you fight your way closer to the trader during a round. In between rounds, follow the red line in front of you to get to the trader. And when you get there, buy your items quick, as time is limited.
3) Don't forget to heal! It is very important that you heal others, and yourself. You will take lots of damage in Killing Floor, and healing is how you stay alive. You have a healing tool that can heal yourself and other players (default quickkey is "5" to switch to this tool). When you heal other players, your tool will recharge faster so it is best to heal others rather than heal yourself. You can see a health bar above your team mates, so when a teammate's health is low switch to the healing tool, walk up really close and aim at them, and press the fire button to heal them. If worse comes to worse, heal yourself by pressing the quick heal key (default is "Q").
4) Aim for the head! Most of the Zeds in game won't go down easy, so aim for the head to do maximum damage and conserve ammo. Use your aiming button (default right mouse button) to aim down your sights for precision aiming.
5) Start with one of the easier classes. Some classes are easier to start out with than others. Sharpshooter, Support, and Commando all start out with some good weapon bonuses and are easy to start out with. Be aware that if you choose the medic class your team will be depending on you to keep them healed, so don't pick this class if you aren't going to heal people
6) Buy Combat Armor!!! Combat armor really improves your survivability. So when you are in the trader this should be one of the first things you buy.
7) Use your flashlight. You always have a pistol that is equipped with a flashlight. If you are using the pistol press middle mouse to turn on the flashlight (or press "F" by default to switch quickly to the pistol with the flashlight turned on).
8) Don't forget about the welder! You have a welder that can weld any door shut (default press "5" twice to switch to welder, or switch weapons with the mousewheel). Weld doors shut to either channel the zeds into an ambush, or hold them off long enough to heal up your team and reload. Remember, the welder is your friend, and all the cool kids are using it.
9) Grenades! Press G to throw a grenade, but not when the zeds are too close to you or you might blow yourself up.
10) You can turn down/off the player voices if they bother you. The player voices in Killing Floor are meant to be cheesy, funny, and over the top like a "B" horror movie. They are part of the character of the game, and even people that don't like them at first find themselves spouting out the funny phrases the characters in game say after a while and laughing about it. With that said, some people find them annoying. So in the setting menu under "Game" there is a setting called "Audio Message Level". The default is "All Messages", but you can set this to "Important Only" to get only the important info, or "Minimal" to get the bare bones voice messages.
Most important of all - have fun!!! We hope you all enjoy the KF Twisted Christmas event, and stick around to play the game after the event is over.

Re: Killing Floor
Yay for bugged achievement?
Everyone in that game just got The L.A.W. That Broke The Camel's Back, aka, kill the boss with the rocket launcher. (L.A.W.)
Tungsten bought it, then died, and I proceed to kill the boss with it so only one person (Me) should have gotten it, however everyone in that game got it.
Fun times. . .

Shifty wasn't even in that game, so that's extra weird. . .

Actually I had a lot of fun playing with villians. Me and shifty kept playing after you guys left. Our teams were so horrible. No team should be getting killed that quick on normal.

Alright, playing with Toby is amazing.
He's the best Medic ever, and he's getting good at hitting moving targets with his healing syringes.

I'm still learnin'! Playin' with you folks is amazing. I've never beaten the Patriach until yesterday, then today, everyone downs him in 15 seconds! Exciting stuff.

Thanks, Beeron. :)
